Welcome to Rise Academy.

Rise Academy Jamaica didn't start in a polished boardroom or an ivory tower. It grew straight out of the hard truth of getting knocked down, counted out, and choosing to rebuild anyway.

I didn't launch this platform to help people memorize formulas or tick boxes on an exam sheet. Tests are just paper. I built Rise Academy because I know how damaging it is when missed chances, past mistakes, or raw bad luck start convincing you that you’ve reached your ceiling.

Where you are right now isn't the end of your story. A setback is just a pause, never your final destination.

Why We Rise

I know the heavy weight of starting over. I know how it feels when people size you up by your circumstances, when doors slam in your face, and when continuing takes every ounce of grit you possess. Giving up is always easier. I chose not to.

That struggle completely reshaped my view of what learning should be.

Education isn't about collecting certificates to hang on a wall. It is a lifeline. It builds back the confidence life chipped away, opens doors that were locked shut, and gives you the hard credentials needed to step into your next chapter. When you pass an exam after being written off, you aren't just getting a score. You are proving to yourself that you are still in the game.

That conviction is the heartbeat of Rise Academy Jamaica.

Most learners don't fail because they lack brains. They fail because earlier foundation blocks are missing, complex ideas were never explained in plain language, or life got heavy and they fell behind.

Adults face those exact same walls, only with jobs, kids, and bills piled on top. The hardest part is often dragging along the false belief that you are "too late" or "too far behind."

We built Rise Academy specifically to shatter that mindset.

Whether you're taking your first try at CSEC subjects or earning your GED, we break down the wall through targeted instruction, raw practice, and direct accountability. We don't flood you with useless theory. We spot your specific gaps, patch them up, and build real capability so you step into that exam room knowing you've got this.

Rise Academy is not being built to become another collection of private tutoring sessions. We are building an online education academy designed to combine quality instruction, structured curriculum, technology, accountability, community, and measurable academic progress.

Because opportunity should not be limited by where someone started. A secondary-school student preparing for CSEC and an adult preparing for the GED may appear to be on completely different journeys.

But underneath the surface, they often need the same things:

Rise Academy is particularly committed to learners who have struggled academically, fallen behind, are returning to education, or simply need a different approach to learning.

We do not believe that a difficult academic history automatically predicts a difficult academic future.

Our Mission

Our mission is straightforward: give Jamaican and Caribbean learners access to sharp, structured exam preparation that actually works, while building the grit and confidence needed for whatever comes next.

A certificate is just paper. We want our students walking away with something far more permanent:

Our Founder

Sereika Goodison (née Savariau) built Rise Academy Jamaica on a foundation of raw personal survival, forced resets, and the hard-won proof that education can completely rewrite a life's trajectory.

Her own fight to rebuild shaped the core values of this academy: radical second chances, unyielding grit, real structure, and turning self-doubt into measurable progress.

Rise Academy started with her story, but it won't stop there.

The ultimate goal is an enduring institution, powered by high standards, expert educators, cutting-edge tech, and high-impact partnerships. The real legacy won't be the founder; it will be the unbroken string of graduates proving what is possible when given a clear path forward.

We are building toward a future where a student in Jamaica, or a Caribbean learner anywhere on the globe, can grab hold of sharp, structured prep without ever believing that a struggle makes them a failure.
