Being completely honest, the reason I started this academy goes deep. It wasn’t born just out of a passion for teaching; it was born out of a necessity for survival and a refusal to be defined by the shadows cast upon me.

My path to where I stand today has been anything but linear. I know what it feels like to have your dreams interrupted. I know the weight of being targeted, the sting of false accusations, and the profound frustration of having doors shut in your face when you were reaching for your potential. There was a time when the world tried to dismantle my life, when the systems meant to protect me were the very ones that seemed to tear my plans apart. I have watched dreams I worked tirelessly for be stripped away, and I have sat in the quiet, heavy realization that the road to an education—to a future—would be a battle.

But in those moments of isolation and struggle, I discovered my own strength.

I realized that if I could survive the attempts to silence me, I could use my voice to ensure that no one else felt silenced in their own pursuit of knowledge. I started tutoring because I wanted to provide more than just study material; I wanted to provide a safe harbor. I know what it feels like to be doubted, to be told you are less than you are, and to be labeled by circumstances you didn't create.

Because I have lived that, I teach differently.

I founded Rise Academy because I believe that education is the most powerful act of reclamation you can perform. When you learn, you grow. When you grow, you become impossible to ignore.
